An aimsir le Derek Mac an Tòisich

Gaelic Gàidhlig

[Derek] Halò feasgar math dhuibh, uill abair thusa gum facas cuid again tron latha an-diugh seallaidhean air leth geamhradail agus tha barrachd sneachda ri thighinn nuair a thèid sinn tron oidhche a-nochd agus tron an latha a-màireach cuideachd. Agus mar thoireadh air an t-sneachd, tha rabhaidhean ann bho oifis na side, rabhadh buidhe ann airson cnap mhath de cheann a deas na dùthcha agus an teas-meadhan sin tha rabhadh orains ann cuideachd.

[Derek] Ach thig nas fhaide tuath agus tha rabhadh eile ann an turas sa airson sneachd agus deigh airson pàirtean de cheann a tuath agus ear-thuath na dùthcha. Mar sin a-nochd, chì sinn bann de dh’uisge, de fhlin agus de shneachd a tha air a bhith mu cheann a deas na dùthcha an-diugh a’ gluasad nas fhaide tuath mean air mhean. Sin gu bhith tuiteam mar shneachd gu h-àraid air na monaidhean ach fiù ’s gu talamh nas ìsle aig amannan. Agus aig a’ cheart àm, bannan de dh’uisge gu bhith gluasad a-staigh bho cheann a tuath na dùthcha agus tha iad seo gus a bhith tuiteam a-rithist mar sneachd air talamh àrd ach fiù ’s gu talamh nas ìsle.

[Derek] Oidhche gu math fuar a bhios ann agus a’ bharrachd air meallan gu math geamhradail a bhith ann, a’ ghaoth gu bhith ag èirigh is gum bi neart-gèile ann anns na h-eileanan mu thuath ro mhadainn.

[Derek] A-màireach tha dà rabhadh buidhe eile ann, aonan airson sneachd a-steach air an dùthaich agus fear eile airson uisge trom agus leantainneach mu chostaichean an ear-thuath agus ann an Arcaibh. Mar sin a-màireach bidh i gu math robach tron a’ mhadainn gu h-àraid mun a’ Ghàidhealtachd agus mar sin dìreach Obair Dheathain le bannan de dh’uisge de fhlin agus de shneachd. Sneachd gu bhith ann gu h-àraid a-rithist air na monaidhean agus a h-uile coltas ann gun toir seo buaidh air cuid dhe na rathaidean as àirde, an A9 na measg agus fiù ’s sneachd gu talamh nas ìsle aig amannan. Ach mun àm a ruigeas sinn meadhan an fheasgar cuid mhath dhe na sin a’ gluasad air falbh dhan a’ chuan a tuath.

[Derek] Ach latha fuar a bhios ann gu h-àraid anns a’ ghaoith a bhios làidir a’ ruighinn neart gèile anns na h-eileanan agus mu chostaichean an ear-thuath. Ach mar a thèid sinn tron oidhche an ath-oidhche an t-siostam dhomhainn a tha seo, Stoirm Christoph a’ gluasad air falbh a-mach dhan a’ Chuan a Tuath. Mar sin mun àm a ruigeas sinn Dihaoine, ’s e dealbh rudeigin nas ciùine a bhios ann ach gaoth gu tuath fhathast nar cuideachd mar sin latha gu math amh a bhios ann.

[Derek] Mar sin, bidh tòiseachadh gu math fuar reòite Dihaoine, le meallan gu math bitheanta sgapte air bitheadh a-staigh bho thuath a-rithist. Bidh iad seo geamhradail gu h-àraid air na monaidhean ach fiù ’s gu talamh nas ìsle. Ach bidh e nas tiorama ann am meadhan ceann a deas agus taobh siar na dùthcha ach fuar air feadh na dùthcha, dhà gu ceithir Celsius aig a’ char as fhèarr. Oidhche Mhath.

The weather with Derek MacIntosh

English Beurla

[Derek] Hello, good evening to you, well won’t some of us see very wintry sights through the day today and more snow to come when we go through the night tonight and through the day tomorrow too. And as a consequence of the snow, the weather office has warnings, a yellow warning for a good piece of the south of the country and right in the middle of that there’s an orange warning too.

[Derek] But go further north and there’s another warning this time for snow and ice for parts of the North side and North-East of the country. Therefore tonight, we’ll see a band of water of sleet and of snow at the bottom end of the country today moving further North bit by bit. That will be falling as snow especially on the mountains but even to lower ground at times. And at the same time, bands of rain going to be moving in from the North end of the country and these will be falling again as snow on high ground but even to lower ground.

[Derek] It will be a very cold night and as well as that there will be very wintry showers the wind will be rising until it is a gale in the islands in the north before morning.

[Derek] Tomorrow, there are two yellow warnings, one for snow on the inside the country and another one for heavy and persistent rain around the north-east coasts and in Orkney. Therefore, tomorrow will be very rough through the morning especially in the Highlands and therefore Aberdeen with bands of water of sleet and of snow. There will be snow especially again on the mountains and there is every chance that this will affect the highest roads, including the A9 but even snow on lower ground at times. But at the time that we reach the middle of the evening most of that is moving away to the North Sea.

[Derek] But it will be a cold day especially in the wind that will be strong reaching gale-force in the islands and around the North-East costs. But as we go through the night the next night, this heavy system, Storm Christoph moving away out to the North Sea.

[Derek Therefore, by the time we reach Friday, it will be a somewhat calmer picture but the north wind will still be windier so it will be a very raw day. These will be wintry, especially on the mountains but even on lower ground. But it will be dryer in the gaps in the south side and the west side of the country but cold across the country, two-four Celsius at the best. Goodnight
