Cha leig thu leas a bhith tarbhach

Gaelic Gàidhlig

[Caitlin] Halò! Is mise Caitlin agus an-diugh tha mi ag iarraidh bruidhinn mu dheidhinn an strì a th’ agam ann an lockdown.

[Caitlin] Nuair a tha mi a’ coimhead air na meadhanan sòisealta, tha mi a’ faicinn gu bheil tòrr dhaoine a’ comharrachadh air dè cho tarbhach 's a tha iad air a bhith thairis air an lockdown seo. Air sgàth seo, bha mi a’ coimhead air air ais air liosta a chruthaich mi fhèin aig toiseach lockdown.

[Caitlin] A’ cluich tòrr piàno, a’ sgrìobhadh barrachd sgeulachdan ’s sgriobtaichean, a’ dèanamh barrachd ealain, is ag obair air mo sgilean cleasachd agus sheinn.

[Caitlin] Tha mi air cosg a mhòr-chuid den ùine agam ag obair air rudan airson oilthigh, an uair sin a’ cluich geamannan agus a’ coimhead air Netflix agus ag ithe.

[Caitlin] Is aig deireadh an latha, tha mi a’ dol air na meadhanan sòisealta agus a’ faicinn cho tarbhach 's a tha a h-uile duine eile 's tha mi a’ faireachdainn ciontach nach eil mi a’ dèanamh gu leòr.

[Caitlin] Ach, tha sin ceàrr. Cha bu chòir dhomh fhèin no duine sam bith eile a bhith a’ faireachdainn ciontach nach eil iad air a bhith tarbhach gu leòr thairis air an lockdown seo.

[Caitlin] Tha feum againn air cuimhneachadh air seo.

[Caitlin] Tha “tarbhach” a ciallachadh tòrr diofar rudan airson tòrr diofar dhaoine agus tha tòrr ùine againn airson nan rudan sin a dhèanamh.

[Caitlin] Na stress!

[Caitlin] Cuideachd tha e fada nas cudromaiche gu bheil sinn toilichte agus fallainn nar bodhaig agus nar n-inntinn.

[Caitlin] Agus a bharrachd air sin, tha feum againn stad a dhèanamh coimeas eadarainn fhèin agus daoine eile.

You don't have to be productive

English Beurla

[Caitlin] I’m Caitlin and today I want to talk about my struggle in lockdown.

[Caitlin] When I look at social media, I see that lots of people are remarking how productive they’ve been over this lockdown.Because of this, I was looking back at a list I made myself at the start of lockdown.

[Caitlin] Playing lots of piano, writing more stories and scripts, doing art and working on my acting and singing skills.

[Caitlin] I’ve spent most of my time working on things for university, and then playing games and watching Netflix and eating.

[Caitlin] At the end of the day, I go on social media and see how productive everyone else is and I feel guilty that I’m not doing enough.

[Caitlin] But that’s wrong. It’s not right for me or anyone else to be feeling guilty that they’re not doing enough over this lockdown.

[Caitlin] We need to remember this.

[Caitlin] Productive means lots of different things for lots of different people and we have lots of time to do these things.

[Caitlin] Don’t stress!

[Caitlin] Also it’s far more important that we’re happy and healthy in our bodies and minds.

[Caitlin] As well as that, we need to stop comparing ourselves to other people.
