Sluagh na h-Alba a’ toirt taic do Sgioba ball-coise nam ban

Gaelic Gàidhlig

[Karen Elder - Preseantair] Chun na spòrs leinn ma-thà, ’s a-nochd, tha sin aig Ailean.

[Ailean MacLeòid – Neach-aithris Spòrs] Mòran taing, a Kharen agus feasgar math dhuibh uile. Bhuannaich sgioba nam ban aig Alba a-trì gu dhà an aghaidh Jamaica anns a’ gheama mu dheireadh aca ro Chupa na Cruinne. Bha na boireannaich a’ cluich aig Hampden airson a’ chiad turas ann an seachd bliadhna agus nochd sluagh mhòr a-raoir gu sòraidh slàn a thoirt dhaibh ron fharpais.

[Ailean MacLeòid – Neach-aithris Spòrs] Laoidh Nàiseanta na h-Alba ann an Stèideam Ball-coise na h-Alba airson Sgioba Nàiseanta nam Ban aig Alba, dìreach an dàrna turas riamh a thachair a leithid agus a’ chiad turas a tha boireannaich na dùthcha air a bhith a’ dèanamh deiseil airson Cupa na Cruinne.

[Ailean MacLeòid – Neach-aithris Spòrs] Le bhith a’ falbh gu Cupa na Cruinne, tha sgioba Shelley Kerr airson aire sluagh na h-Alba a ghlacadh. Gu dearbh, rinn iad sin an seo aig Hampden is còrr air ochd mìle deug gu leth neach air nochdadh, an àireamh a bu mhotha riamh airson geama aig Sgioba nam Ban.

[Ailean MacLeòid – Neach-aithris Spòrs] Fhuair an sluagh deagh gheama – Alba a’ leigeil le Jamaica a dhol air thoiseach ach an uair sin, tadhal iongantach bho Erin Cuthbert agus saor bhreab a’ cheart cho math bho Caroline Weir gus an sluagh fhàgail toilichte ro leth-ùine. Thug mearachd Sophie Howard cothrom do Khadija Shaw an dàrna tadhal aice-se fhaighinn ach ’s e Howard a’ nochd sa bhogsa eile le fichead mionaid air fhàgail gus Alba a chur air thoiseach a-rithist.

[Ailig O’ Henley] Tha iad a’ dol gu Cupa na Cruinne ann an deagh shunnd. Sin an rud a bha a dhìth orra a-nochd. Agus le sluagh mòr air an cùlaibh, nach fhaca sinn riamh roimhe aig geama nam ban an Alba, còrr is ceithir uiread an àireamh as motha a bh’ ann riamh roimhe agus chunnaic sinn tadhail a-nochd a bhiodh tu toilichte fhaicinn anns an Champions Lìog, gun luaidh aig geama an seo aig Hampden, Sgioba nam Ban. Beagan de thàmailt, na tadhail a chaill iad agus feumaidh iad a’ teannachadh suas ma tha iad a’ dol a dhèanamh dad an aghaidh Sasainn sa chiad gheama aig Cupa na Cruinne.

[Ailean MacLeòid – Neach-aithris Spòrs] Sheall geama na h-oidhche a-raoir dìreach cho làidir ‘s a tha ùidh mhuinntir na h-Aba ann an turas Sgioba nam Ban chun na Frainge agus cothroman gu leòr gu bhith aig an Airm Tartain na geamannan a choimhead aig an taigh.

[Iseabail Nic an t-Sagairt] Tha sinn air bhioran ma dheidhinn. A-rèiste, tha mi a’ smaoineachadh gu bheil e a’ ciallachadh gu bheil BBC ALBA aig ìre na Cruinne. Tha sinn fortanach gu bheil sinn a’ faighinn an cothrom seo a dhèanadh. Agus tha mi a’ smaoineachadh airson sgioba na h-Alba gu seach àraid gu bheil e a’ toirt cothrom dhuinn a bhith a’ taisbeanadh sgilean na h-Alba ach cuideachd sgeulachd na h-Alba is eachdraidh na sgioba, leis an seòrsa sealladh no blas sònraichte a th’ againne air BBC ALBA mar a tha sinn air làimhseachadh spòrs agus tha mi a’ coimhead air adhart ris gu mòr.

[Ailean MacLeòid – Neach-aithris Spòrs] Ann an naoi-ceud deug, trì fichead ’s a h-ochd-deug, Chaidh Airm Ally a dh’Argentina, làn mhisneachd is dòchas, chan eil Airm Shelley buileach cho misneachail mun turas a tha aig caolas Sasainn ach tha iad a cheart cho misneachail mu na cothroman aig an sgioba san àm ri teachd.

[Ailig O’ Henley] Tha na cluicheadairean an seo aig aois far am faod iad a bhith a’ farpais airson ceithir no còig bliadhnaichean eile aig an ìre as àirde. Agus feumaidh iad an ùine sin a chleachdadh airson clann-nighean a thoirt air adhart agus eisimpleirean a thoirt dhaibh air ciamar is urrainn dhut ball-coise a chluich aig ìre àrd agus faighinn gu farpaisean Cupa na Cruinne is farpaisean Eòrpach.

The people of Scotland back the Scottish women’s football team

English Beurla

[Karen Elder - Presenter] To the sports then, and Allan has them tonight.

[Allan MacLeod – Sports reporter] Many thanks, Karen and good evening to you all. The Scotland’s women’s team won 3-2 against Jamaica in their last game before the World Cup. The women played at Hampden for the first time in seven years and a big crowd turned up last night to wish them a fond farewell before the competition.

[Allan MacLeod – Sports reporter] The National Anthem of Scotland in the National football stadium of Scotland for the Scottish national Women’s team, just the second time that this has ever happened and the first time the country’s women have been preparing for the World Cup.

[Allan MacLeod – Sports reporter] As they are away to the World Cup, Shelley Kerr have captured the attention of the people of Scotland. They certainly did that here at Hampden and more than 18,500 people turned up, the largest number there ever was for the women’s team.

[Allan MacLeod – Sports reporter] The crowd got a good game – Scotland let Jamaica go ahead but then an amazing goal from Erin Cuthbert and a free kick just as good from Caroline Weir to leave the crowd happy before half-time before half-time. Sophie Howard’s mistake gave Khadija Shaw a chance to get her second goal but it was Howard who appeared in the box with another 20 minutes putting Scotland ahead again.

[Ailig O’ Henley] They are going to the World Cup in a good mood. That’s what was needed tonight. And with a big crowd behind them, which we’ve never seen before in the women’s game, more than four times the largest number and we saw a goal tonight which you would be happy to see in the Champions’ League, let alone the game at Hampden, the women’s team. A bit of a shame, the goals the lost and they must tighten up if they are going to do anything against England in the first game of the World Cup.

[Allan MacLeod – Sports reporter] The game last night showed just how strong the people of Scotland’s interest is in the women’s team’s tour to France and plenty of opportunities for the Tartan Army to watch the game at home.

[Iseabail MacTaggart] We are excited about it. Therefore I think it means that BBC ALBA is on the world stage. We are fortunate that we are getting this opportunity to do this. And I think for the Scotland team it’s especially vital that it gives us the opportunity to showcase Scotland’s skills but also Scotland’s story and the history of the team with the sort of view or unique flavour that we have on BBC ALBA and how we are developing sports and I am really looking forward to it.

[Allan MacLeod – Sports reporter] In 1978, Ally’s Army went to Argentina, full of confidence and hope, Shelley’s army aren’t quite as confident about the trip as the strait and narrow of England but they are just as confident about the opportunities of the team in the future.

[Ailig O’ Henley] These players are at the age where they can compete another four or five years at the highest level. And they must use the time to bring girls forward and give them examples of how you can play football at a high level and get to World Cup and European competitions.
