Cead-planaidh fhaighinn son Ionad Thròndairnis

Gaelic Gàidhlig

[Dòmhnall Angaidh Moireasdan - Preseantair] Nise, tha Urras Baile Fhlòdaigearraidh san Eilean Sgitheanach an dòchas gum bi fios aca ro thoiseach an t-samhraidh am faigh iad pìos fearainn sa bhaile air a bheil iad an dùil ionad choimhearsnachd ùr a thogail. Seo às dèidh dhan Urras cead-planaidh fhaighinn ann am prionnsabal airson ionad anns am bi bùth, àite-bìdh, taighean-beaga agus àiteachan far am faigh luchd-ciùird na sgìre an stuth aca a reic. Tha an aithris seo aig Alasdair MacLeòid.

[Alasdair MacLeòid – Neach-naidheachd] Leis an Eilean Sgitheanach cho trang le daoine, tòrr dhen a’ bhliadhna, ’s ann mun àm-sa mu thoiseach na bhliadhna a bhios muinntir agus beathaichean an Eilein a’ faighinn beagan fois.

[Alasdair MacLeòid – Neach-naidheachd] Tha mi an seo ann am Flòdaigearraidh ann an Tròndairnis, Stafainn gu deas orm agus Cille Mhoire beagan mhìltean gu tuath agus tha Urras Baile Fhlòdaigearraidh airson àit’ ùr a thogail ann a sheo, làn ghoireasan dha luchd-turais agus muinntir an àite air am bi Ionad Tròndairnis.

[Mairead NicNeacail] Tha sinn an dòchas ionad a thogail far am b’ urrainn do dhaoine a bhith a’ cleachdadh seòmraichean, a’ cur cruinneachaidhean air aghaidh agus taisbeanaidhean cuideachd. Tha sinn an dòchas gum bi e na chothrom do dhaoine a tha an-sàs ann an dèanamh rudan iad fhèin mar a’ fighe is quilting is rudan mar sin gum b’ urrainn dhaibh a’ chuid fhèin a reic nas fhaisge air an dachaigh aca. Seachdain Diluain, fhuair sinn cead planaidh ann am Prionnsabal o Chomhairle na Gàidhealtachd. Tha sinn air sin fhaighinn a-nis agus tha sinn uabhasach dòchasach gum bi sealbh againn air an talamh so ’s dòcha deireadh an earraich, tòiseach an t-samhraidh.

[Maoilios Caimbeul] Chan e dìreach rud airson Flòdaigearraidh a bhiodh an seo idir. ’S e rud a th’ ann airson sgìre air fad. ’S e Ionad Thròndairnis an t-ainm a bhios againne air agus bidh e a’ toirt a-staigh an t-Eilean ’s an sgìre air fad agus bidh sinn an dòchas gum bi e a’ tàladh dhaoine ann an sheo airson àite mar sin a bhiodh ann, àite cruinneachaidh far am biodh daoine a’ tighinn, daoine às an àite fhèin agus luchd-turais cuideachd, gum bi iad a’ tighinn an seo.

[Alasdair MacLeòid – Neach-naidheachd] Ach le beatha cho socair, caillear anns a’ bhaile bheag, bhrèagha a tha seo, nach biodhte airson an t-àite a’ cumail faire mar a tha e, gun barrachd dhaoine a thoirt ann?

[Maoilios Caimbeul As t-samhradh, tha an t-àite loma làn le daoine agus cha chreid mi gun dèan e cus diofair leis an ionad a tha seo a thaobh daoine a bhith a’ tighinn. Tha an-còmhnaidh daoine a’ tighinn an seo.

[Alasdair MacLeòid – Neach-naidheachd] Chan eil aca a-nis ri feitheamh ach gu toiseach an t-samhraidh gum bi fios aca am faigh iad an talamh. Ged a tha an samhradh, làithean fuara mar seo, a’ faireachdainn gu math fad’ às. Alasdair MacLeòid, BBC An Là, Flòdaigearraidh.

Planning permission for Trotternish Centre

English Beurla

[Donald Angaidh Morrison - Presenter] Now, Flodigarry Trust on the Isle of Skye hope that they’ll know before the start of summer whether they’ll have a piece of land where they expect to build a community centre. This follows the Trust’s receiving planning permission in principle for a centre where there would be a shop, a restaurant, toilets and places where the craftspeople of the area will sell their items. This is a report by Alasdair MacLeod.

[Alasdair MacLeod – Journalist] With the Isle of Skye so busy with people often in the year, it’s around this time, at the start of the year when the people of the area and animals of the island get a little peace.

[Alasdair MacLeod – Journalist] I am here in Flodigarry in Trotternish, Staffin to the south of me and Kilmuir a few miles to the north, and Flodigarry Trust want to build a new place here, full of facilities for tourists and people of the area which would be (called) Trotternish Centre.

[Margaret Nicolson] We hope to build a centre where people would use rooms, put on gatherings and exhibitions too. We hope it would be an opportunity for people who are involved in doing things for themselves like knitting and quilting and they could sell their products closer to home. A week ago on Monday, we got planning permission in principle from Highland Council. We’ve got that now and we are terribly hopeful that there will be a property on the land so maybe the end of spring, start of summer.

[Myles Campbell] This is not just something for Flodigarry at all. It’s for the area as a whole. Trotternish Centre is the name that we’ll have for it and it will take in the island and the area as a whole, and we hope that it will attract people here for us to have a place like that, a gathering place where people will come, people from the area itself and tourists too, that they will come here.

[Alasdair MacLeod – Journalist] But with such a quiet, pleasant life in this lovely, wee village, wouldn’t it be better to keep the area just as it is, without bringing more people in?

[Myles Campbell] In the summer, the area is full of people and I don’t think it will make much of a difference with this centre in terms of people coming. There are always people coming here.

[Alasdair MacLeod – Journalist] They only have to wait until the start of summer to find out if they will get the land. Although the summer, in cold days like this, feels very far away. Alasdair MacLeod, BBC An Là, Flodigarry.
