Tha na rathaidean sàmhach ach chan eil na h-eòin!

Gaelic Gàidhlig

[Meghan] Is mise Meghan, tha mi aig an taigh agam ann an Blackbridge an-dràsta, ach b’ àbhaist dhomh a bhith aig Sabhal Mòr Ostaig agus tha mi air a’ chùrsa T.BH. So tha mi an-dràsta dìreach a’ cur crìoch air na bh’ agam ri dhèanamh airson a’ chùrsa seo an seo aig an taigh.

[Meghan] Ach a bharrachd air seo, tha mi cuideachd air a bhith a’ cumail sùil air na h-eòin a tha mun cuairt orm.

[Meghan] Chan e birdwatcher a th’ annam mar as àbhaist, ach tha mi air a bhith a’ mothachadh gu bheil cus a bharrachd ri chluinntinn an-dràsta agus gu h-àraidh na fuaimean aig cuckoos agus chan eil iadsan uabhasach cumanta an seo mar as àbhaist.

[Meghan] Agus tha mi a’ smaoineachadh gu bheil seo ’s dòcha air sgàth ’s gu bheil na rathaidean gu math sàmhach an-dràsta.

[Meghan] An àite na neadan aca fhèin a thogail, tha cuckoos a’ cleachdadh nan neadan a rinn eòin eile [Meghan] agus tha e coltach gu bheil sin a tha a’ tachairt anns na craobhan a tha seo.

[Meghan] Tha e coltach gum bi cùisean sàmhach airson ùine fhathast agus mar sin ‘s dòcha gum bi barrachd eòin a’ tighinn a chèilidh orm.

The roads are quiet but the birds aren’t!

English Beurla

[Meghan] I’m Meghan, I’m at my house in Blackbridge right now, but I used to be at Sabhal Mòr Ostaig and I’m on the T.V. course. So, I’m now just finishing what I had to do for this course here at the house.

[Meghan] But as well as this, I’ve also been keeping an eye on the birds that are around me.

[Meghan] I’m not a birdwatcher usually, but I’ve been noticing that there’s far more to hear now and especially the sounds of cuckoos and they’re not usually very common here.

[Meghan] And I think that maybe this is because the roads are very quiet right now.

[Meghan] Rather than building their own nests, cuckoos use the nests that other birds have made, and it seems that this has been happening in these trees.

[Meghan] It looks like things will be quiet for a while yet and so maybe more birds will be coming to visit me.
