Rudan nach eil Eilidh a’ tuigsinn

Gaelic Gàidhlig

[Eilidh] Halò a h-uile duine, is mise Eilidh NicIain agus an-diugh tha mise a’ dol a bhith bruidhinn mu dheidhinn trends nach eil mi a’ tuigsinn. Tha mi dìreach airson cur a-mach ann a shin gun e seo na beachdan pearsanta agamsa agus ’s dòcha nach bi thu ag aontachadh leotha.

[Eilidh] Airson tòiseachadh a-mach, cofaidh a-mach à glainneachan. Nis, tha fios a’m gu bheil còir agad a bhith ag òl cofaidh fancy mar latte agus rudan mar sin ann an glainneachan fada, ach air feadh nam meadhanan sòisealta tha mise air a bhith a’ faicinn daoine ag òl cofaidh le deigh agus tha iad gan whiskeadh agus rudan mar sin. Agus chan eil e a’ dèanamh ciall dhomh. Dè tha ceàrr le cupa cofaidh a-mach à muga a tha blàth, le bainne no gun bhainne?

[Eilidh] Trì faclan dhut: aodach high vis. Carson a tha daoine a’ smaoineachadh gun e ‘fashion choice’ a th’ ann? Chan eil thu ag obair air building site, chan eil thu a’ togail an sgudail gach latha, so carson a tha thu a’ dol a-mach gu festivals agus rudan mar sin le aodach high vis ort? Chan urrainn dhomh ach smaoineachadh air aon benefit dhen aodach sin agus 's e sin nach call duine thu. Ach a bharrachd air sin, bidh daoine a’ smaointinn gu bheil thu ag obair aig an festival.

[Eilidh] Tron lockdown a tha seo, tha daoine air a bhith a’ cur dath san falt aca. Mar mi fhìn. Ach dè th’ ann le a bhith daoine a’ dèanamh parting mar seo, agus a bhith a’ cur dath eadar-dhealaichte air na dà phìos a tha seo? Nis, chan eil mi ag ràdh nach bu chòir dhut a bhith a’ cur dath san falt agad, ach dèan am falt gu lèir agad. Dè ceàrr le sin? Honestly, tha thu a’ coimhead mar gum bu chòir dhut a bhith ann an cartoon. Tha mi dìreach ag ràdh.

[Eilidh] Tha 2020 air a bhith craicte gu leòr gun na fashion statements agus na trends a tha seo ach chì sinn na tha ri tighinn. Ach airson an-dràsta, mar sin leibh!

Things Eilidh doesn’t understand

English Beurla

[Eilidh] Hello everyone, I’m Eilidh Johnson and today I’m going to be speaking about trends that I don’t understand. I just want to put it out there that these are my personal opinions and maybe you won’t agree with them.

[Eilidh] To start out, coffee out of glasses. Now, I know that you should drink fancy coffee and things like that out of tall glasses but all over social media, I’ve been seeing people drinking coffee with ice and they whisk it and things like that. And it doesn’t make sense to me. What’s wrong with a cup of coffee out of a mug that’s warm, with milk or without milk?

[Eilidh] Three words for you: high vis clothes. Why do people think it’s a ‘fashion choice’? You’re not working on a building site, you’re not collecting rubbish each day, so why do you go out to festivals and things like that with high vis clothes on? I can only think of one benefit of those clothes and that’s that no one will lose you. But as well as that, people will think that you’re working at the festival.

[Eilidh] Through this lockdown, people have been dyeing their hair. Like myself. But what is it with people doing a parting like this, and putting a different colour on these two sections? Now, I’m not saying that you shouldn’t be dyeing your hair, but do all of your hair. What’s wrong with that? Honestly, you look like you should be in a cartoon. I’m just saying.

[Eilidh] 2020 has been crazy enough without these fashion statements and trends but we’ll see what’s to come. But for now, goodbye!
