Tha Calum a’ glanadh allt

Gaelic Gàidhlig

[Calum] Halò, tha mi an-dràsta nam sheasamh ann an allt. Allt a’ Mhuilinn faisg air an taigh agam ’s tha plana agam ceàrn seo, ’s dòcha trì cheud meatair, den allt a ghlanadh. Tha seo agam agus baga agam. Nuair a lìonas mi sin, bidh mi deiseil. Tha toll na mo bhòtann, chuir mi teip thairis air, ach chan eil mi cinnteach an dèan e a’ chùis.

[Calum] Spring mòr air choireigin? Chan eil càil a dh’fhios a’m.

[Calum] Seall sin, chan eil e ro dhona!

[Calum] Tha an t-uisge nas doimhne na bha mi an dùil ann an cuid de dh’àitichean agus an cunnart a dhol thairis air mo bhòtannan.

[Calum] Fònaichean-cluaise.

[Calum] Seall an sin, seann fòn-làimhe, chan eil fònaichean mar seo air a bhith mun cuairt airson bliadhnaichean a-nise.

[Calum] Hmm, tha iad fuar ach tha iad fhathast bog.

[Calum] Cha bhi an eucoireach ro fhada air falbh...

[Calum] Seall air seo, pìos de sheann einnsean no rudeigin air choireigin agus tha cuideigin dìreach air a thilgeil a-staigh an seo.

[Calum] Gu fortanach, le tòrr dhe seo thèid agam ath-chuairteachadh a dhèanamh.

[Calum] Sin mo bhaga nise làn, agus cha do chuir mi fiù ’s crìoch air mo chuairt. Cha robh ceum a ghabh mi anns nach robh sgudal air choireigin ri fhaicinn.

[Calum] Tha tòrr sgudail ann fhathast ach cha robh rùm agam airson a h-uile càil agus ’s e co-dhùnadh cuideigin a th’ ann stuth a thilgeil air falbh, a bhith ro leisg no gun urram dhan àite agus cha dèanadh sibh nur gàrradh fhèin e, carson a tha thu ga dhèanamh an seo?

[Calum] Deagh naidheachd, ’s dòcha, tha spaid ùr agam.

Calum cleans up a burn

English Beurla

[Calum] Hello, I’m now standing in a burn. Mill Burn close to my house, and I have a plan to clean this area of maybe three-hundred metres of the burn. I have this and I have a bag. When I fill that, I’ll be finished. There’s a hole in my boot, I put tape over it, but I’m not sure if it will do the job.

[Calum] Some kind of big spring? I have no idea.

Look at that, it’s not too bad!

[Calum] The water is deeper than I expected in some places and it’s in danger of going over my boots.

[Calum] Earphones.

[Calum] Look there, an old mobile phone, phones like this haven’t been around for years now.

[Calum] Hmm, they’re cold but they’re still soft.

[Calum] The criminal won’t be far away…

[Calum] Look at this, a piece of an old engine or something and someone has just thrown it here.

[Calum] Luckily, with lots of this I’ll manage to recycle it.

[Calum] That’s my bag now full, and I didn’t even finish my journey. There wasn’t a step I took in which there wasn’t some kind of rubbish to see.

[Calum] There’s still lots of rubbish but I didn’t have room for everything, and it was someone’s decision to throw stuff away, to be too lazy or without respect for the place, and you wouldn’t do that in your own garden, why are you doing it here?

[Calum] Good news, maybe, I have a new spade.
