Cò ris a tha Tiriodh coltach an-dràsta?

Gaelic Gàidhlig

[Anna] Halò! Is mise Anna NicDhòmhnaill agus seo agaibh cuid de na rudan a tha mise air a bhith a’ dèanamh tro àm glasadh sluaigh.

[Anna] Gu h-àbhaisteach bidh mi ag obair air mo cheann fhèin anns na meadhanan, nam neach-ciùil agus mar chreachadair.

[Anna] Ach chaidh stad a chur air a’ mhòr-chuid de m’ obair aig toiseach chùisean agus thill mi à Thiriodh far an togadh mi gus cuideachadh air a’ chruit.

[Anna] Bha mi a’ biathadh agus a’ sealltainn air na h-iomadh beathaichean a th’ againn

[Anna] … agus a’ cur biadh air dòigh dhomh fhèin.

[Anna] Chan eil mi cho math air gàirnealachd san fharsaingeachd ach ’s urrainn dhomh na luibhean a thrusadh co-dhiù agus bha mi aig sin còrr an latha.

[Anna] Tha sinn gu math fortanach ann an Tiriodh gu bheil tràighean àlainn agus a’ mhuir faisg air làimh.

[Anna] Tha mi a’ faireachdainn gu math fallainn às dèidh mhìosan ag obair a-muigh ’s a’ cur seachad ùine ‘s a’ mhuir. Bha cothrom agam mo chuid yoga a leasachadh cuideachd.

[Anna] A bharrachd air sin, tha cothroman air a bhith agam ceòl a chluich.

[Anna] Chòrd sin rium gu mòr agus tha mi gu math taingeil air a shon.

[Anna] Coltach ri gu leòr, tha tachartasan ’s na naidheachdan air mo chuid leughaidh a’ stiùireadh.

[Anna] Tha mi mothachail gu bheil e furasta dhomh faireachdainn gu math fad air falbh bho na chùisean seo ’s mi beò ann an saoghal gu math geal gu làitheil ach ged a tha sinn air a’ Ghàidhealtachd, tha sinn nar pàirt de shiostam agus tha comas againn na rudan atharrachadh.

[Anna] An taca ri cuid, tha glasadh sluaigh air a bhith gu math tlachdmhor dhomh ged a tha mo bheatha air atharrachadh gu mòr agus tha mi cho fortanach ’s a ghabhas gu bheil dachaigh agam ann an Tiriodh.

[Anna] Tioraidh!

What is Tiree like just now?

English Beurla

[Anna] Hello! I’m Anna MacDonald and here are some of the things that I’ve been doing through lockdown.

[Anna] Usually, I work freelance in the media, as a musician, and as a potter.

[Anna] But most of my work was stopped at the start of this, and I returned to Tiree where I was brought up to help on the croft.

[Anna] I was feeding and watching the many animals we have

[Anna] … and preparing food for myself.

[Anna] I’m not that good at gardening in general but I can collect the weeds anyway and I was at that for the rest of the day.

[Anna] We’re very lucky in Tiree that there are beautiful beaches and the sea close to hand.

[Anna] I’m feeling very health after months working outside and spending time in the sea.

[Anna] I had the chance to improve my yoga too.

[Anna] As well as that, I’ve had opportunities to play music.

[Anna] I’ve enjoyed that a lot and I’m very grateful for it.

[Anna] Like many, events in the news have guided my reading materials.

[Anna] I’m aware that it’s easy for me to feel very detached from this situation as I live in a very white world from day to day but although we’re in the highlands, we’re part of a system and we have the capability to change things.

[Anna] Compared to some, lockdown has been very pleasant for me although my life has changed a lot and I’m as lucky as can be that I have a home in Tiree.

[Anna] Cheerio!
