Gaelic Gàidhlig

[Shona] Nist bidh na coin a’ dol tro dhèideagan gu math luath mar sin tha mise a’ dol a shealltainn dhuibh dòigh dèideagan a dhèanamh gu saor a’ cleachdadh seann lèintean-t agus tha a dhà dhiubh agam ann an seo ann an dathan gu math soilleir. Agus an toiseach tha mi a’ dol gan gearradh ’s tha mi dol a chleachdadh an cùil oir tha barrachd aodaich air a’ chùl. Agus tha mi ag iarraidh cumadh ceart-cheàrnaich agus tha mi a’ dol a thoirt dheth na gàirdeanan agus cuideachd ga ghearradh nan amhaichan ann a shin. Tha mi smaoineachadh gum bi mòran seann lèintean-t aig daoine aig an taigh. Tha fhios gu bheil mise dona airson a bhith gan cumail bhon a h-uile seòrsa rud agus ma tha cù agad, tha seo glè mhath. No tha iad gu math saor a cheannach agus tha na bùthan carthannais glè math airson sin cuideachd.

[Shona] Feumaidh iad … seo air falbh!

[Shona] Nist, tha mi a’ dol a ghearradh striopanan às dhiubh seo. Tha mi ag iarraidh ’s dòcha dhà no trì òirlich agus an aon rud air an lèine-t eile. A-nist …

[Shona] Tha mi dol gan cruinneachadh ri chèile agus cuiridh mi snaidhm aig a’ mhullach airson a chumail làidir ri chèile. Seo a-nist, dìreach snaidhm gu math sìmplidh mar sin.

[Shona] Tha mi dìreach ga fighe ri chèile gu sìmplidh mar a dhèanadh tu mar falt mar gum biodh.

[Shona] Tha mi a’ feuchainn a dhèanamh caran teann, dìreach airson ’s gun cùm e ri chèile gu math. Seo a-nist, tha mi a’ dol a stad ann a shin agus fàgaidh mi gu leòr aig a’ bhonn airson crìoch a chur air agus tha mi a’ dol a chur bàlla air cuideachd oir tha fhios gu bheil iad seo a còrdadh ris na còin glè mhath. ’S tha mi a’ dol ga ghearradh ’s an uair sin cuiridh mi air a’ bhonn e.

[Shona] Tha e nas fheàrr teanchair a chleachdadh gus am bonn a chumail sàbhailte na àite fhad ’s a tha na tuill gan gearradh.

[Shona] Tha mi a’ dol a chleachdadh inneal mar seo, screwdriver, airson cuideachadh a thoirt dhomh.

[Shona] Cuiridh mi snaidhm anns an taobh seo dìreach airson crìoch a chur air agus airson a chumail teann. Dìreach mar sin!

[Shona] Seo a-nist ma-thà!

[Shona] Dèideag, luath, saor, airson nan con. Tha mi an dòchas gun còrd e riutha.

A dog toy

English Beurla

[Shona] Now the dogs go through toys very quickly so I’m going to show you a way to make toys cheaply using old t-shirts and I have two of them here in very bright colours. And first I’m going to cut them and I’m going to use the back because there’s more clothe on the back. And I want a rectangle shape and I’m going to take off the arms and also cut it at the neck there. I think that people will have lots of t-shirts at the house. I know that I’m bad at keeping them for every type of thing and if you have a dog, this is very good. Or they’re very cheap to buy and charity shops are good for that too.

[Shona] I have to ... this away!

[Shona] Now, I’m going to cut strips out of these. I want maybe two or three inches and the same on the other t-shirt. Now …

[Shona] I’m going to gather them together and I’ll put a knot at the top to keep them together firmly. Here now, just a very simple knot like that.

[Shona] I’m just pleating it together simply as you would do hair in a way.

[Shona] I’m trying to make it kind of tight, just so that it keeps together well. Here now, I’m going to stop there and I’ll leave enough at the bottom to finish it and I’m going to put a ball on it too because I know that dogs like these a lot. And I’m going to cut it and then I’ll put it on the bottom.

[Shona] It’s better to use a vice so that the ball stays safe in place while the holes are being cut in

[Shona] I’m going to use a tool like this, a screwdriver, to give me help.

[Shona] I’ll put a knot on this side just to finish it and to keep it tight. Just like that!

[Shona] Here now then!

[Shona] A toy, quick, cheap, for the dogs. I hope they like it.
