We have already seen that the word dà can affect the beginning of the following word, such as dà chofaidh, dà fhichead. A vowel is not followed by an h, so two o’ clock is just dà uair, but the phrase for twelve o’ clock is. It is affected as the beginning of deug is affected as dà uair dheug.
