Dealan-dè a’ dèanamh miastadh air plana airson rèis chàraichean

Gaelic Gàidhlig

[Iain MacIlleathain - Preseantair] Nise, tha chaos theory air ràdh gum faod buile bho na sgiathan aig dealan-dè sgrios a dhèanamh air taobh thall an t-saoghail. Seo a-nis sgeulachd mar a tha dealan-dè a’ dèanamh miastadh air plana airson rèis chàraichean ann an Earra-Ghàidheal. Chan ann le builean sgiathan ged-tà, ach leis gu bheil i ann idir. Bha dùil rèis motocross a chumail faisg air Cille Mhàrtainn airson a’ chiad uair ann an còig bliadhna deug air fhichead. Chan urrainn dhaibh ged-tà, leis gu bheil an dealan-dè a-nis a' fuireach ann. Seo Andreas Wolff.

[Andreas Wolff – Neach-aithris] Bha còrr is seachd mìle duine an làthair ann an seo ann an Cille Mhàrtainn ann am meadhan Earra-Ghàidheil ann an naoi ceud deug seachad ‘s a h-ochd (1978). ‘S ann an seo aig Caisteal Charnasserie a chaidh an aon Grand Prix Motocross na Cruinne a chumail an Alba. Bidh cuid dhe na dràibhearan a’ cruinneachadh a-rithist anns an sgìre san Ògmhios am-bliadhna agus bha iad am beachd an rèis a bhith aca aon uair eile. Ach, chaidh cur às dhe na planaichean sin air sàilleibh, agus gum faod gun toir e droch bhuaidh air dealan-dè nam boglaichean a tha a’ fuireach air an làraich. Tha e coltach gum faodadh an rèis a tha seo cron a dhèanamh air lus air a bheil grèim an diabhail agus tha an dealan-dè sònraichte a tha seo beò air an sùgh aige, ach bidh na dràibhearan fhathast a’ cruinneachadh anns an sgìre. Tha e coltach ged-tà nach bi rèis ann a-nise.

A butterfly is ruining plans for a car race

English Beurla

[Iain MacLean - Presenter] Now, chaos theory states that the flutter from the wings of a butterfly can cause destruction on the other side of the world. Here’s a story about how the butterfly has made mischief on plans to race cars in Argyll. It’s not with wings, though, but that it exists at all. There was hope to run a motocross race close to Kilmartin for the first time in thirty-five years. It is not possible, though as the butterfly lives there. Here’s Andreas Wolff.

[Andreas Wolff – Reporter] More than seven thousand people were in involved here in Kiklmartin in the middle of Argyll in 1978. It was here in Carnasserie Castle that the first World Grand Prix Motocross was held in Scotland. Many of the drivers came together again in the area in June this year and they thought it would be a good idea to hold the race one more time. But, they have had to abandon the plans as it could have a negative effect on the butterflies of the bogs that stay in the area. It would appear that this race could destroy the plant caklled the Devil’s Claw and this unique butterfly lives off its sap, but the drivers will still gather in the area. It would appear that the race will not now be on.
