[Màiri] Tha mi ’n dòchas gum faigh mi lorg air rudan anns na bùithtean cathrannais an seo. Tha mi gu bhith a’ lorg rudan mar Christmas baubles ’s tinsel ’s rudan mar sin agus chan eil fhios a’m am bi rudan den t-seòrsa sin ac’ mun àm-sa den bhliadhna. Co-dhiù faodaidh mi faighneachd dhaibh.

[Preseantair] Thaghadh Màiri Narnia mar chuspair a’ chlub agus tha i a’ sireadh dèideagan Nollaig am measg eile.

[Màiri] Ò thì, tha mi gu bhith ann an seo fad na h-oidhch’! ’S ann an-còmhnaidh ann an cùiltean beaga mar seo a gheibh thu na rudan a tha thu ag iarraidh. Uill, nì sin rud. Tunnag. Chan eil mi ag ràdh nach fhaodadh tu sin a chur ann am fear. Nis thu, seall na fhuair mi. Bò. Seo a-nis mar a bha mi a’ ciallachadh nan snowglobes a tha sinn a’ dol a dhèanamh. Agus seo am plana. Bidh thu a’ faighinn rud mar seo ’s tha thu a’ cur glue air an siud agus can an-dràsta steiceadh tu sin. Tha thu ga lìonadh le bùrn agus rud beag glycerin agus glitter ’s dùnaidh tu e an uairsin mar seo agus an uairsin nuair a chrathadh tu e tha e mar gum biodh an sneachd a’ tuiteam sìos air an rud. Seall an dearbh rud a bha mi ag iarraidh. Tha sin dìreach mìorbhaileach. Tha mi uabhasach toilichte le na fhuair mi. Cha robh càil a dhùil ’m gum faighinn na tha seo. Tha mi air mo dhòigh! Cha tug siud cho fada ’s a bha dùil a’m. Bha dùil a’m gum biodh agam ri bhith a-mach ’s a-steach gu tòrr bhùithtean mus lorgainn tòrr dhe na rudan a tha mi a’ lorg. Tha mi gu math toilichte an-diugh.

Christmas baubles

[Presenter] The school summer holidays aren’t far off and Mairi’s attention is now on the church’s summer club that she is arranging for the first time. After getting the children ready for school, a trip to the shops to find stuff for the club.

[Mairi] I hope that I find things in the charity shops here. I am going to be search for things like Christmas baubles and tinsel and things like that and I don’t know if they will have things like that at this time of the year. Anyway I can ask them.

[Presenter] Mairi chose Narnia as the club’s theme and she is searching for Christmas decorations amongst other things.

[Mairi] Oh I am going to be here all night! It is always in little corners like this that you get the things that you want. Well, that’ll do something. A duck. I’m not saying that you couldn’t put that in one. Now then, look what I got. A cow. Here now, what I was meaning by the snowglobes that we are going to make. And this is the plan. You get something like this and you put glue on that and say just now you would stick that. You fill it with water and a little bit of glycerin and glitter and you would close it then like this and then when you would shake it it is as if the snow is falling down on the thing. Look the very thing that I was wanting. That is just marvellous. I am very happy with what I got. I didn’t at all expect that I would get all this. I am delighted! That didn’t take as long as I expected. I expected that I would have to be out and in to lots of shops before I would find lots of the things I was searching for. I am very happy today.
