Ro-shealladh de dhràma ùr Gàidhlig

[Mairi Rodgers – Preseantair] Nis, tòisichidh dràma ùr air BBC Alba an ath mhìos. ‘S e ‘Bannan’ a’ chiad dhràma Gàidhlig leantainneach bhon a bha Machair air an telebhisean o chionn fichead bliadhna. Chaidh an sgeulachd fhilmeadh ann an Slèite san Eilean Sgitheanach agus bha ro-shealladh san sgìre a-raoir. Tha an aithris seo aig Eilidh NicLeòid.

[Eilidh NicLeòid– Neach-aithris] Tha Bannan a’ tòiseachadh le turas dhachaigh. ‘S e Màiri a tha tilleadh ach carson a bha i cho fada air falbh? Sin bun-stèidh an dràma a chaidh fhilmeadh ann an Slèite ‘s t-samhradh-sa chaidh agus a-raoir, fhuair muinntir an àite cothrom toradh na h-obrach sin fhaicinn.

[Boireannach 1] Seallaidhean snog, deagh stòraidh agus actadh a bha fìor mhath cuideachd.

[Boireannach 2] Agus bha mi fhìn a’ fuireach ann an Tarscabhaig agus bha e coimhead cho snog.

[Fireannach 1] Bha e dìreach mìorbhaileach faicinn cho proifeiseanta ‘s a bha a h-uile sìon.

[Fireannach 2] Tha an stòraidh mar leudachadh a-mach ‘s dòcha anns na series a tha tighinn. Bidh e gu math inntinneach.

[Eilidh NicLeòid– Neach-aithris] Tha na trì pìleatan, leth uair a thìde a dh’fhaid, a-nis deiseil son craoladh. Seach mar a thachair le Machair, nuair uair a chaidh sgriobt Beurla eadar-theangachadh. ‘S e sgrìobhaiche fileanta sa chànan a chruthaich e.

[Chrisella Ros] Tha na coimhearsnachdan againn caran eadar-dhealaichte bho mar a bha iad anns na seann-làithean, ach chan eil iad air atharrachadh gu tur agus tha daoine fhathast le nòsan sònraichte a dh’aithnicheas a h-uile duine agus tha mise smaoineachadh gu robh na cleasaichean, gun ghreimich iad air sin anns a’ bhad agus gun do rinn iad rudeigin a bha sònraichte leis an sin agus tha mi cho taingeil gun ghreimich.

[Eilidh NicLeòid– Neach-aithris] Tha e cudromach dhan fheadhainn a bhios ga mhargaidheachd gu bheil an sgeulachd a’ còrdadh ri daoine bho thaobh a-muigh na coimhearsnachd Ghàidhlig cuideachd.

[Iseabail Nic An t-Sagairt] Gu bheil sinn a’ toirt àite agus inbhe do dh’fheallsanachd Ghàidhlig mar gum biodh agus gu bheil sinn a’ dearbhadh agus a’ dèanamh taisbeanadh dhen sin airson a h-uile duine, gus am faic iad saoilidh mi luach ar cultair agus luach na Gàidhlig ann an dòigh a tha cruthachail.

[Eilidh NicLeòid– Neach-aithris] ‘S e a’ chompanaidh a shoirbhich gu mòr le na Inbetweeners a rinn Bannan. Tha am prìomh oifis aca a-nis ann an Slèite, far a bheil iad an dòchas suas ri còig prògraman deug dhen dràma ùr a dhèanamh gach bliadhna.

[Chris Young] ‘S fhuair sinn airgead a-rithist bho Creative Scotland, bho Alba Chruthachail agus MG ALBA airson còig pàirtean eile agus an-dràsta tha mise a’ lorg airgead mòr airson series 2, 3, 4, 5 ‘s dòcha.

[Eilidh NicLeòid– Neach-aithris] Tòisichidh iad a’ filmeadh a-rithist a dh’aithghearr. Bidh cothrom aig an luchd-amhairc faicinn mar a thèid le Màiri air an treas fichead dhen t-Sultain. Eilidh NicLeòid, BBC An Là, Slèite.

Preview of new Gaelic drama Bannan

[Mairi Rodgers – Presenter] Now, a new drama starts on BBC Alba next month. ‘Bannan’ is the first continuing Gaelic drama since Machair was on our screens 20 years ago. The story was filmed in Sleat on the Isle of Skye and there was a preview in the area last night. This report comes from Eilidh MacLeod.

[Eilidh MacLeod – Reporter] Bannan starts with a journey home. It’s Mairi that’s returning but why has she stayed away so long? That’s the basis of the drama, which was filmed in Sleat last summer and last night, the community had a chance to see the fruits of their labour.

[Lady 1] Great views, good story and brilliant acting too.

[Lady 2] And I live in Tarskavaig myself and it looked so lovely.

[Gentleman 1] It was just wonderful to see how professional everything was.

[Gentleman 2] The story is expanding perhaps to other series’ that are to follow . It’s really interesting.

[Eilidh MacLeod – Reporter] The three pilots, half an hour long, are now ready for broadcast. Unlike what happened with Machair, where an English script was translated, it’s a fluent speaker who has created it.

[Chrisella Ross] Our communities are different to how they were in the olden days, but they haven’t completely changed and people still have special customs that are very recognisable and I think that the actors grasped this immediately and they did something distinctive with it and I am so thankful they did grasp it.

[Eilidh MacLeod – Reporter] It’s important to those marketing it that people out with the Gaelic community enjoy the story too.

[Iseabail MacTaggart] We are giving a place and status to Gaelic and we are affirming this and displaying it to enable everyone to see the wealth of our culture and language in a creative way.

[Eilidh MacLeod – Reporter] It’s the company who were behind the success of the Inbetweeners who made Bannan. Their main office is now in Sleat, where they hope to make up to fifteen episodes of the new drama each year.

[Chris Young] And we received funding again from Creative Scotland and MG alba for five more parts and now I am looking for a large amount of money for series 2, 3, 4 and perhaps even 5.

[Eilidh MacLeod – Reporter] They will being filming again shortly. Viewers will get the opportunity to see how Mairi gets on on the 23rd September. Eilidh MacLeod, BBC An La, Sleat.
